Line Your Chimney

Choose the correct liner for the fuel that you wish to burn:

Grade 316 - for gas, condensing gas, oil and wood burning

Grade 904 - for all fuels including smokeless coal

Why Should I Line My Chimney?

Lining your chimney helps fourfold:

The liner creates the best efficiency for your stove. Over the first 45 minutes your lighting is heating the liner to create the flue draught. It is easier to heat the correct liner, than a larger liner or a brick stack.

The liner creates the correct velocity on the stack and aids exit from the chimney. Bu not having a liner, the velocity could be half, so making the emitted gases cool and create condensation, that in turn can create tar.

By having the correct exit velocity, the emitted smoke will rise and also have more resistance against pressures in the stack. A low velocity can mean the smoke being pulled downwards externally.

On older buildings, there will be mortar breakdown in the stack. The liner contains the smoke and emitted gases, so not allowing them the penetrate the breakages.
